LogoSummer LEAP (Learning. Empowerment. Achievement. Purpose) is a summer learning opportunity for kids in grades K-6.  The National Summer Learning Association states that at-risk children who do not participate in any kind of summer learning typically lose 2 months of reading achievement over the summer.  Additionally these same children have limited access to quality programs that combat this issue and the consequences can be lifelong.  The goal of Summer LEAP is to provide our students with a safe place to have fun and participate in a variety of experiential learning opportunities.  Our main emphasis is on reading, creative learning and service learning, with a desire to develop positive character in our students that will transform their families and community.  While children may simply see Summer LEAP as something fun to do over the summer, our vision is that this program will help turn the tide of their future.  With the help of quality, caring volunteers, the goal of Compass is to build encouraging healthy relationships between children and positive adult role models.  It is through these relationships that our program will have the greatest opportunity for success.  To register your child this summer please contact Jenny, and to learn more about how your youth group can participate, visit our Summer ICE Trips page.
